THE GITES
The main building was totally renovated in 2024 to enable guests to organize receptions while staying on site. The Château has been converted into two gîtes, with 13 bedrooms and a total of 30 beds.
THE ROOMS
Our 13 bedrooms are located into two separate gîtes, between the central part « le Château » (7 bedrooms and 4 shower/bathrooms, on two floors, sleeping 15 people) and its left wing, « l’Annexe » (6 bedrooms with 6 shower/bathrooms, on two floors, also sleeping 15 people).
All the bedrooms and other interior areas have been restored and redecorated in keeping with the period, so that guests can fully enjoy the sober, elegant mood of yesteryear, enhanced by relaxed comfort. Most of the rooms are voluminous and bright, with at least one window overlooking the surrounding greenery.
* The Magnolia and Marronnier rooms have a shared bathroom and toilet.
The Chêne, Érable and Châtaignier rooms have a shared bathroom and WC.
*¹ The Magnolia, Marronnier and Pin rooms have 140cm beds and cannot be converted into single beds. However, all other rooms can be divided into single beds.
THE KITCHEN & DINING ROOM
On the ground floor, the “Château” include a superb kitchen/dining room and a second large 500 m² dining room.
They are separated by beams; the fully equipped kitchen/dining room, adorned with a magnificent table in light wood, and the other vast dining room where you’ll find two long tables. Our gîte’s spaces are ultra-luminous, as they are completely surrounded by windows.
The kitchen is fully equipped with a stove, two large fridges, a dishwasher, a microwave, a coffee maker, a kettle and a toaster. Attractive antique crockery completes the equipment, plates, glasses, cups, cutlery… Nothing is missing for your comfortable stay in our country cottage.« La gourmandise a encore l’inestimable avantage de développer entre compagnons de table des sentiments d’indéracinable affection… » Guy de Maupassant, Amoureux et primeurs,1881.
THE LIVING ROOM
Two hushed, intimate spaces for resting, reading, writing, play music or indulging in the most sincere farniente, are located on the ground floor and 1st floor of the château. The first-floor lounge features a library and piano. You’ll forget everything around you…
« Quand je n’ai rien à faire, et qu’à peine un nuage
Dans les champs bleus du ciel, flocon de laine, nage,
J’aime à m’écouter vivre, et, libre de soucis,
Loin des chemins poudreux, à demeurer assis
Sur un moelleux tapis de fougère et de mousse,
Au bord des bois touffus où la chaleur s’émousse. »
Théophile Gautier, Farniente, Premières poésies, 1830.
